Are reservations required for walk-in tours?

No reservation is required for Walk-in Tours on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Hours are 10am to 4pm.

What days and hours are you open to the public?

We are open for Walk-in Tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Detailed tour information is available by clicking on the Services – Tours tab.

Do the tours start at a specific time?

Tours run continuously from 10am to 4pm. When you arrive, you will join an existing tour, or a new group will be started if current tours are full. The tours loop through the museum so you will get to see all the animals on your tour.

Can we just walk around and look at the animals?

For your safety and the security of the Animal Ambassadors – ALL visits are by Guided Tour only. For your safety and the animals’ safety, you must always stay with your tour group.

Can we take pictures while on the tour?

Do you offer any discounts?

No, we do not offer any discounts on tours.

Do you offer Birthday Parties?

Yes, we offer a variety of birthday and private event packages. Parties may be hosted at your home, in local parks, or at private venues. We do not offer onsite parties at the museum at this time. Go to Birthday Parties

Do you offer field trips for schools, youth organizations, or homeschool groups?

Yes! Field trips can be booked on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A deposit is required to book a field trip or a school district Purchase Order. Payment in full is due on the day of the field trip. There is a $234 minimum fee for all field trips.

Do you offer special programs for Scouts?

Yes, we offer a variety of Scout Workshops. We also offer presentations for troop meetings, campouts, and other special events. Call our Education Department at 760-975-9690 for details.

Can you schedule a Platinum (private) tour online?

Do you have volunteer opportunites for children?

We offer a Hatchlings (4-12 yrs) and Jr. Volunteer (13-15 yrs) reading and socialization program with dragons on Sunday mornings, twice a month. Space is limited, call to reserve your seat! (760)975-9690

Do you have adoptable reptiles?

Yes, we often have a variety of adoptable animals. All adoptions are preceded by mandatory participation in our three-part Adoption Class. There is a $50 charge for the Adoption Class, plus an additional fee of $50 to adopt an animal once you are approved.

Do you take in pet reptles?

We do not accept red-eared slider turtles. Other animals are subject to space and resource availability. Call first (760)975-9690.

Can children visit without an adult?

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on all tours.
